Feeling the power

Enzo stopped the car in front of a tall, enticing, forty stories building. The aura of building gave me chills as the thought of managing such a big empire was exciting itself. The structure of the Rexivo was beyond belief with perfect balance of aesthetics. Enzo glared at me while I wasn't recovered from the view of the estate. It's simply great! He looked at me, fascinated and said, 

"Ready to work?"

"undoubtedly yes."

I exclaimed and we went inside the opulent building. The aroma of the building was filled with leathery smell, mixed with musky and fruity smells. The combination was phenomenal. The reception lady smiled and bowed her head slightly when she saw Enzo and I wondered what it must have felt like when there were so many people, paying respect to you. After crossing the reception area we reached the waiting hall and oh my goodness! It was huge, no,giant. It was furnished with fine leather couches and chairs and air conditioners made the environment perfect there. The place smelled all musky and sweet. There air diffusers are worth the money they made. I have never been to any hotel. My parents never took me to vacations and they didn't even let me go alone ever. The only places I visited were the homes of my father's under bosses and I hated visiting them. It was my first time in a hotel. I was excited to work here. 

Enzo came in front of me and asked, 

"So how do you like it?"

"Do I even need to tell? Aren't my expressions obvious?"

I knew my expressions gave everything I felt as I was mesmerized. Enzo smiled. 

"Come let's go to the conference hall."

He said and led me towards elevators. How cool it would be to work here. But I wasn't exactly knowing what the meeting was about.

"About what have you set up the meeting?"

I asked.

"Regarding making you the CEO of the hotel,of course."

What! Would he actually register the property in my name?Why would he do so, how could he trust me so easily. 

"You can't be serious, I thought I would work under your name,you can't actually make me the CEO."

My disbelief was obvious in my voice.

"When I said you will handle the business, I meant it.And moreover it's temporary, or are you planning to live with me forever? 

He said and I felt the heat in my cheek but no, obviously it was temporary.

"How could you trust me with such a big property? You don't even know me well."

I said. 

"Oh! Trust me I do know you well. And as I mentioned before you won't run away with my money, aren't you sure of that?"

He said with a confidence that was ethereal. Did he know so much about me to let me handle this huge of a property? And of course I won't run with his money, I didn't even want to. The only thing I want from him was his help in seeking revenge against those who made me suffer. I rolled my eyes at him and the elevator came to an stop at the 16th floor. There was only a single door at the end of the corridor. Everything was golden, the walls, the gadgets and the door and the windows except furnitures which were white leather and the paintings. 

Enzo opened the door for me and I walked in. The hall was enormous, with white circular walls and curtains. A long rectangular wooden table with glass slab at the top. Around fifty men could sit at a time. But only 10-15 were seated. I took a step ahead and Enzo took the lead and he stopped at the end of the table, I stood beside him. 

"Why have you asked for meeting so early? Is it something urgent?"

A bald man in his forties asked.

"Yes it is. As I wanted some changes in the resurrection group of our entity."

Enzo admitted. 

"What is it?"

A woman asked, she looked much professional for her age which I supposed to be early thirties. 

"I want to make a new CEO of the hotel, a new face."

He said looking at me and then continued,

"I needed your opinions on it. That's why I have kept the meeting only with those who keep a big amount of share and debentures in the company and are real representatives to it."

Everyone started looking at each other, they were perplexed. 

"But why do we need a new CEO. You are doing good."

The bald man stated. 

"I know but I wouldn't be able to continue doing so and Miss Valerie Monaro will do a great job."

Enzo said. I felt confident as he was praising me but then there was some discussion going on between the members and then the bald man said, 

"Sorry to say but you mentioned she is Monaro. Does that mean she belongs to East Coast?"

The question made my blood boil but I held myself together.

"Yeah she does. But that doesn't mean we can't trust her. She has a long story,why she is working with me and I offered that to her. And moreover this business isn't engaged in illegal works so I don't think any of you should have any protest against it."

Enzo said and it sounded more like a warning than suggestion. Everyone fell silent and after a minute of silence, the professional looking woman raised her left hand and said, 

"I agree with making her the new CEO."

She smiled at me and that made me a little more confident, at least someone was good here. After the few seconds half of the members raised their hands in my support but the bald man was still conflicting in his head. And after getting the majority of votes, Enzo didn't waited for his reply and declared me the new CEO and said legal procedures would soon be completed. 

Everybody left the hall and the bald man was the last to exit after giving me a glare which wasn't friendly, it felt like a silent threat but I didn't care more about it. Enzo turned to me.

"Congratulations for being the new CEO and practically it's your company now."

He said and I still couldn't figure out his emotions. What a hard mask he wore. 

"No, not practically yet."

I stated the fact. Legal procedures were yet to be done. He smiled barely and motioned toward the door.

"Let me acquaint you with the hotel now, as you have to handle it."

He said elevator took us downstairs and that was the thing I was waiting for, to tour the luxurious property. 

He led me towards the dining area, which was again, giant and beautifully decorated with paintings and was furnitured in an aesthetic sense. There were only a few people having their breakfast. And the aroma of food and the air diffuser, combined to form the most enthralling fragrance and I could just sit idly there, all day. 

"This the 1st dining area. You can find three more. One in the lobby, one in terrace and then the last in the swimming pool area."

Enzo told and I couldn't wait to explore this place more. Then we went toward the garden area, which was again superb and the greenery was so soothing and calming, this place was the best for meditation purpose and never to forget the big fountain at it's center. The noise of flowing water made everything fell more close to nature and one can actually feel the nature near them by just closing eyes. The garden was large and I didn't had time to see all of it as the hotel wasn't some ordinary. It would take me good time to get used to the place. Then we went to lobby area and few more waiting halls not as large as the first one but definitely big. The swimming pool area was beautiful with the deck chairs and a bar counter. Only a few children were swimming there with their parents. It wasn't the good time to swim at this hour of the day. And suddenly I realised I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday and my stomach growled. Enzo noticed it and turned towards me. 

"I am hungry."

I admitted. 

"We can have food here?"

Enzo nodded towards the dining area near the pool. 

"Let's go to terrace. As you told, we can have lunch there as well and in that way I will get to visit it too."

I suggested and we went toward the elevator. It took us good time to reach the top. And it felt awkward inside the lift as we didn't had much to talk about. I only complimented the architecture of his hotel and he kept reminding me it was mine now. But it was temporarily mine, I will start a new, fresh life after making my father and husband lose everything. I will start everything anew and would leave this life forever and would never look back.
